We would like to invite you for the third Sonology Discussion Concert of the Academic Year 2019–2020 with participants from Czech Republic, Italy, Iran, Iceland, Germany and Syria.The concert will start at 19:30, please be on time.As usual, entrance and drinks are free.

The Royal Conservatoire will have its annual Open Day on Saturday 25th January 2020 from 10:00 until 17:30. Sonology will have all studios open for the public from 11:00 onwards, with demonstrations, information about the educational programmes, etc. At 16:30 there will be a short Sonology Concert in the Arnold Schoenbergzaal.

Das Hörstück „Knallfunken“ von Raviv Ganchrow ist mit dem französischen Radiokunstpreis Prix Phonurgia Nova in der Kategorie „Art Sonore“ ausgezeichnet worden. …

Ganchrow teilt sich den Preis mit der belgischen Klangkünstlerin Anne Lepère, die für ihre Arbeit „Autopoïesis“ geehrt wurde.

Für „Knallfunken“ nutzte Ganchrow die Großfunkstelle Nauen, den ältesten noch in Betrieb befindlichen Radiosender der Welt. Hier zeichnete er elektromagnetische Signale von Blitzen auf, die er anschließend per Kurzwelle zurück in den Äther sandte. Seine Radiokomposition entstand im Auftrag von Deutschlandfunk Kultur mit freundlicher Unterstützung des Mondriaan Fonds. Das Hörstück wurde am 23. August 2019 im Kulturprogramm des nationalen Hörfunks urgesendet.

We would like to invite you for the second Sonology Discussion Concert of the Academic Year 2019–2020 on Wednesday 11 December 2019. We have fixed media pieces by Suhmi Chung, Ernests Vilsons, Anni Nöps and Aleksandar Koruga, a live electronics performance by Simone Sacchi, improvised music with the Sonology Electroacoustic Ensemble and a piece for six (6!) harps, bass recorder and electronics by Julian Maple Oliveira.
The concert will start at 19:30. Admission and drinks are free.

Sonology’s ongoing collaboration with Willem Twee Studios in Den Bosch has resulted in a series of concert presentations by Sonology students in Willem Twee’s concert hall, starting this season. The first concert will take place on 15 December 2019, 20:00, as part of a FAQ LAB day.

Today it is 10 years ago that a partnership agreement between the Groupe de Recherches Musicales and the Institute of Sonology was signed by Daniel Teruggi, Henk van der Meulen and Kees Tazelaar.
